Mizzou Ed Bully Prevention Lab
Social & Emotional Learning
We are currently helping with facilitation and implementation of school-wide social and emotional learning curriculums in multiple districts. We support schools as they develop their students' self awareness, social awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and capacity for responsible decision-making.
Targeted Supports
We offer behavioral screeners to help schools identify students who are at risk for bullying involvement, based upon their social and communication skill levels. Our skill-based interventions are designed to reduce bullying involvement as well as improve students lifelong capacities. These interventions are scaffolded by grade but cover critical social and communication skills along with bullying prevention skills.
Assessment
The lab helps schools develop and implement school-wide climate assessments. We also assist with evaluating bullying prevention efforts that schools are already utilizing and help conduct fidelity checks on interventions that schools have in place to assess their effectiveness .
TRAININGS
Policy Support & Review
The BPL lab works with school districts to review bully prevention policies and assure they are in compliance with state and federal regulations. We also assist with review to assure policies are strong enough to impact the lives of the students.
Teacher, Parent, & Community Training
We currently offer a series trainings that are designed to assist key stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and community, in recognizing, reporting, and responding effectively to bullying. These trainings include one-, three-, & six-hour in-person sessions and online modules and courses. Through our partnership with Nureva Inc., we are able to offer high-quality, interactive video conferencing for remote and rural partners.
